Multiple Policy Editors/Collaboration Issues

Hi there,

First time poster here! We transitioned to PolicyStat from a different policy management platform back in April. We are used to collaborating in Google Docs (which was a nightmare due to version control and access issues) and are having a hard time figuring out the best way to edit policies when there are multiple editors.

To add, I’m the Senior Policy and Training Coordinator for the largest FQHC in Oregon, so we have a ton of policies and procedures in PolicyStat due to various regulatory requirements. With that, we also have a ton of folks involved in the review, editing and approval of policies and procedures.

A few, but not all, of the issues we’re facing are:

  1. Not being able to see who edits which portion of a policy (in-line tracked changes).
  2. Not being able to have multiple editors editing the policy at once.
  3. The approval workflow bouncing back and fourth to approvers if minor edits are made, which means the approval process takes a long time and folks are having to re-approve something they already approved.

I’d love to hear how other organizations have handled editing policies and what your approval workflows look like (ie. do you have multiple approvers listed in one step or it is one person per step, etc.).

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this far!

Ashley
